Hi, a newby here, my first thread in fact.

I'm having difficulty getting a hard wired Infra Red extender system to work with a French Canal Plus box, the one they call Le Cube.

I can get the Sky box next to it to work OK but the french box will only respond to maybe 1 out of 20 remote commands.

Could the Le Cube box be using a high frequency Infra Red system?

Thanks.

It's possible that Canal + box doesn't use standard IR commands (I thinks it's called IRDA? or possibly IRDA is the one that isn't standard??).

I recal quite a few years ago that here was box that didn't use the standard style of commands and as a result you coldn't use a multi device replacement remote control. I don't suppose that you use a multi remote control by any chance?

Which remore extender exactly are you trying to use?

As it seems likely that you are correct regarding IRDA, since it's a Pace box and using interative services, similar to some of the older C***e T***west receivers. There are remote extenders available apparently.

Thanks, the remote system I was trying to use was similar to the Xantec stuff. Any ideas where I should be looking for a remote extender that will work?
