My Satellite Setup
Dreambox 7020, HH120 Discq notor with Triax 1.1m
I have a 7020 and harddisk drive. I have set the TCP/IP parameters (not using DHP) and can use the browser to connect to the Dreambox.

When I FTP to it I can see no files although I can make new files (using Windows XP Pro).

Using Telnet I can also connect and see the new file I made but I can also use cd .. to get further up to the real root.

I want to send files to /etc... and other sbut as the FTP will not go up to them what do I do? Is there another Windows program I can use or am I doing something stupid?

To telnet open up a telnet session using the IP address of your DB and the usernam and pwd.

Try a google search for "how to use telnet" - it's a bit like FTP.

WS FTP is the best one (ftp program).

Found an FTP called FileZilla that is freeware and it seems ok.

Put on Gemini but had little time to play with it.

Tried to find some instructions (in English) but failed so far, anyone got any links?

Want to install cams for testing but don't know how.

How to install emus etc are shown in the Idiot's Guide, shows you which files go in which folders. Or do you mean how to use FTP?

No, FTP now sorted with FileZilla.

Is the idiots guide on the main dreambox section applicable to the 7020 then?

If so are plugins etc?

I think most of the emu guides are applicable to all db's. Not sure on the plugins.

Yes, until a specialised IG is written for the 7020 (and I suspect that may be some time off yet) then the existing IG will form the basis of what you need to know. It was mainly written by T_G who has a 5620, but it's nearly all relevant to the 7000, as I can testify.

The 7020 has a completely different boot setup, so that will be different, as will some of the utilities like Flash Wizard etc but basic components, especially plug-ins, emus and the like will very likely work on the 7020.
