Hi im new to programming cards. I have a GemCore410-EMV smart card reader/writer intergrated into my keyboard. Firstly, is it possible to edit or program Sky vieing cards with this, (or cards that could be programmed to be used as a Sky viewing card).
If so what software would anybody recommend to do this job? Any pointers, tutorials, links etc to sites that would help me would also be great.

Any help would be most appreciated, we all have to start somewhere i guess. :-ohmy

Cheers.

You cant do anything to get Sky for free. At the moment, their encryption is totally secure. You want it - you pay for it.

Ah ok thanks, well just wandering really. New to this.

So what channels could i receive and how could i go about this, ie: what software would i require to program my cards etc with my type of card reader/writer? What type of card should i use...... Funcards?

I hear people talking about programming their own cards, receiving channels and wanna get in on the action. heh! :)

All the info about whats possible id in the appropriate sections on the forum. It really depends on what you want to watch. Some are easy to watch, some need some specialised and expensive stuff.

You need to remember that the providers are fighting a war with the hobbyists. Threres no gurantee that any particular channel will stay open. You could buy the latest wonder kit for £££ and 2 days later its just so much junk cluttering the room up!

Yes very true, i know what you mean.

I have looked around the forum for a couple of days now, but i cant seem to find any software that i can use with the reader/writer, unless i am doing something wrong.

The reader/writers drivers are installed and it can read cards etc. But i cant find any editing or writing software. I tried Nagra Editor, set it to COM1 same as my reader but says Error can't communicate or something.

Any ideas?
