My Gibertini bracket for a C band LNB arrived from Germany this morning so I've been looking for an LNB to use with it as I don't want to remove the other one each time. There doesn't seem to be much of a choice so I've narrowed it down to either another ESX241, a BSC421 or a GeoSatPro C2 which is a dual output LNBf that has some good reviews on satelliteguys. The only problem is of the two sites selling it, one doesn't list any shipping options or prices without signing up first (very annoying and why do webshops do that?) The other reckons a minimum of $51 to send it to the UK, my ESX from Paxlycom was only $13 to send it here via USPS.

What other LNBfs are popular these days apart from the ESX241 and BSC421?

Did you enjoy your sweets ace?

It maybe worth waiting for CDTronix to get their LNB's back in?

The Zinwell ZCF-D21B is pricey now with import duty set at £15 but well respected in Australia it's also branded as Telsat.

I've been keeping an eye out for one.

I've tested both the geosat and esx422 lnbfs and at present I have the bsc422 on my 10' bud at the moment. If I had a choice I would go with the geosat as it seemed to more stable but the others proved to be good as well. If your looking for a light lnbf then you should go for the esx.

That's another one to add to the list then, I'll check out some reviews on it later. Import duty should be a percentage of the declared value, not sure what satellite components are subject too but I'll try and find it this evening, I've got a bookmarked TAREC calculator somewhere.

Sweets are still in the box but maybe nibbled later lol

Hi Costactc, I can't find many references to the 422, is it the 242? Even the sites I've found that show it are confused with the model number lol Weight isn't too much of an issue really, I just need something that will squeeze very last bit of signal out of the ether on my 6ft tiddler :D I don't really need dual output either but the reviews and comments I saw suggested the dual out Geosat was marginally better than the single output version.

Having put together a short but polite email to S@doun asking if they could ship a Geosat to the UK using 1st class USPS International (the same method used for the 241 that cost $13) here is the reply I received, pasted in full minus the headers.

USPS Priority Mail International $50.84

Customer service obviously isn't a strong point.

FWIW I have a BSC422 in my collection and have to say ..it performs very well ..Easily as good as the BSC421
Perhaps not quite as good as the ESX241 I'm currently using ...but a very nice dual ..
So I'm guessing the dual version of the ESX4241 (ESX242) would be a good investment ..
Sorry ..can't comment on the Geosat ..but would like to hear direct comparison results.

Will be 20% of the declared value if its below £100 I think there's no import duty just VAT, but that may of changed. Plus of course if it goes through Royal Mail something like a £10 handling fee.

Here is a decently priced 241

About £22.39 delivered.

I rate the Zinwell equal in signal to the ESX241 and far superior build quality. Only 16€ retail from TDT Profesional.

On a 6' dish, scalar ring would be adequate.

Yes, but the Gibbi is an offset dish with a 0.7 f/d so a PF scalar won't do, and I don't know what Aceb means about a German bracket. I'd like to see a photo.

How much is TDT to ship to UK can't add to the basket since its out of stock.

He means a C-Band Gibertini Collar.

As Remlap has posted, it's a collar that is designed to bolt onto the Gibertini 1.2, I already own one of these offset feedhorn from earlier experiments so I'll be using that. _http://cdtronix.com/lnb-s/c-band/bsc-conical-scalar-use-c-band-lnbf-on-offset-dish

I don't know, I live in Spain. I've got trade account with them and whenever the order is over 60€ (which is always) there is no shipping charge.

BTW, in Remlap's photo that looks like one of those convertors used instead of the dielectric plate for circular polarizations. Have any of you tried using one of those?

It's mine, I like it a lot, it works far better than the plate, on 1W BBC Arabic I had no chance of pulling it in before and it became rock solid with it.

I got the Panorama LNB, Polariser and Scalar for a very good price far below what it was worth new.
