I tried to realign the dish myself with limited success, pulling in just 5 German channels. I called in a professional who has electronically aligned the dish on Astra 19E. I still only get those few German channels again (on Astra 1KR tp 10743) but I cannot pull in the ones I had previously before Christmas - some 20 or 30 or more. I have entered the frequencies as supplied from http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-19.2E.php. together with their polarisation and symbol rate as given, and note that that site also shows most of the channels I am looking for on Astra 1H - tp 11836, 11953, 12051, 12109 and a few on 12246 - all transmitted in Clear. A few others are on Astra 1L - tp 10993, 11008, 11052, 11067, 11082, 11111, 11126, 11141, 11185 and a few duplicated on 1F. All these are PAL and have no Symbol Rate quoted so when adding these transponders I have left the symbol rate at 0. (I do not know enough to understand what effect all that has). I have applied Advanced Search to the transponders in my previous paragraph, both those with a symbol rate and those that are "PAL" but the search aborts after reaching 3% and delivers no channels. The on-screen meters show a Strength of c. 85 - 90% and a Quality reading of 85 - 95% for all the channels that are pulled in but substantially lower Quality figures for those I don't get (down to 5% in some cases). I do not understand why there is a difference since the dish is now pointed accurately at Astra. I do pull in many other non-PAL channels in Clear perfectly well from other transponders, particularly Spanish, Polish, French and Arabic ones although none from any designated as "PAL". Channels on transponders from c. 12000 upwards seem mostly not to get pulled in but they are mostly encryoted anyway. I am now at a loss as to how to be able to restore the range of German channels I had previously. Am I missing something in the setup of my receiver? With the dish correctly aligned I must assume the problem is either with the receiver or with the German channels being now transmitted at a significantly lower strength and quality level than previously. I cannot find any support for the latter possibility, however. I would be most grateful for any help. My wife, as the normal viewer of the German channels, is giving me a hard time over the problem !!!
