[updated:LAST EDITED ON 21-Nov-01 AT 08:46 PM (GMT)]Hi,

I'm new to this game... In fact I just discovered it today.

I think the best programmer for me is the elvis. I want to learn how the process works, so I know I will be able to do it, before I purchase it. I have read tutorials and now how to program the pic and eeprom (is it true that no loader file is required with elvis in order to get to the eeprom?). Now I need to know where to get the bin and hex file for the chips in order to get all channels on itv-digital.

If anyone could help I would appreciate it

thank you

p.s. what are the names for the two chips on the gold wafer?

As a newbie, we ask you to read and abie by a few board rules.
Most important is: before posting, check out the info already available. The question of which chips on a goldwafer is one of the many things covered in our "How to/FAQ" in the cards forum. Links to key-sites have been posted continually - even today.

Please use the search function to locate relevant posts.
We'll be glad to help with any remaining questions you then have.

Good luck, and welcome to the hobby!

Yes, I've been searching around.

Why can't you just give me a link here.

Everywhere I go on this forum, people are asking the addresses for sites and you keep answering that links can be found around the forum.

Would it really have taken so much longer to answer my question instead of redirecting me?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Nov-01 AT 11:13 PM (GMT)]Hello Absoluteb

If you require more than one field of information there may be several threads and links that you need to explore. For anyone else to answer all of your questions, they too would probably need to go to the search facility to find the relevant threads. Bearing in mind that the moderators and regular contributors on this forum have jobs and some also moderate and contribute on other forums, it is not surprising that they do not have the time to search for topics and threads for everyone.

Having said all that, I hope you have found what you are looking for, or at least something to start you off, then most people will be delighted to help with fine tuning your info. :)

Absoluteb -
In the two days before you posted, I had posted links to one of the most useful sites no less that FIVE times!!
http://www.satellites.co.uk/scripts/webforum/DCForumID20/113.html
http://www.satellites.co.uk/scripts/webforum/DCForumID20/116.html

http://www.satellites.co.uk/scripts/webforum/DCForumID7/111.html
http://www.satellites.co.uk/scripts/webforum/DCForumID38/29.html

Other links have also been posted in the past few days

http://www.satellites.co.uk/scripts/webforum/DCForumID15/386.html
http://www.satellites.co.uk/scripts/webforum/DCForumID15/382.html

etc.

Instead of complaining about the time it would have taken me to post the link (yet again) you could have much more quickly simply read the most recent posts yourself.

Come on friend, as Rolf says, maintaining this board takes a huge amount of time - we hope and expect the members will invest a little of their own too.
