Hi all,a little advice needed please.

I have a 90cm triax dish and technomate 2100 a motor on a temporary mount (heavy duty speaker tripod with feet weighed down).

Unfortunately, due to my own stupidity this recently fell over and the dish was considerably bent, my next mount will be 2" scaffold with plenty of brackets!

I have straightened the dish as best i can,but some of the weaker channels have gone, for example i can no longer get anything from 26 East.So i am looking for a new dish, probably either the 1M orbital which i can get locally for £70 or the gibertini which will probably cost about £15 more delivered.

I always prefer to but things over the counter, that way any problems can be easily resolved, plus i have used this local guy before and service is very good.Does any one know of a northeast (tyneside) gibertini stockist?

Cheers!

Gibertini for sure but also consider the PENTA 85cm dish

I would personally pay the extra for the Gilbertini, not convinced about the Orbital dishes, or perhaps try the Penta 85, the performance won't be far off the Gilbertini and is great for 16E..

So called capital of Suffolk, UK.
I agree with Milkybarkid. I bought, a so called 1.2m Orbital dish, it's height was 1.2m and only 1.1m wide. It did not pull in any of the fringe sats that my 1, Gibby does. Plugged all the holes and buried it in the ground for use as a shallow pond/bird bath. Slung a load of shingle round it, and in it, and planted some water plants in it.

Well done with 26e there (very well done- not easy that sat) .... where are you and have you got the MBC channels yet? (on 11919H 27500 on that sat).

I am in newcastle ,just east of the tyne bridge, tried mbc, auto and manual scan not a thing!might be better on a fine day.the penta seems to have a much tighter reception beam than the triax,i assume this is down to better build quality?

I would say so. The tighter the focal point the better the dish is. But correct me if I'm wrong or use wrong words for that.:)

Try inputting the data manually for all MBC channels first and use a tv.
Only after some real tweaking do we ever get MBC tp close to or higher than others... skew/ incline/ focal length etc..

Nice clear day here, tried everything but no sign of MBC, been watching camel racing on dubia sports, very entertaining!

Reminds me a bit of when is was a nipper, getting up in the middle of the night to try and get north american medium wave radio stations.
