They say talk is cheap. Google thinks it should be free. Google Talk enables you to call or send instant messages to your friends for free–anytime, anywhere in the world. Google Talk offers you:

We'll see, the best thing is that it is open source, so may be more universally acceptable, it has a long way to go yet though.

I think what peed me off today was that many of the news agencies were talking of it as if it were a breakthrough, ignoring almost entirely the existing players.

A big coup for Google though.
