For me with the 'extras' the Combo can do, plus 4K and price...no contest!

The timer facility doesn't work . Also after channel flicking . Box locks up and black screens on all channels

All we can do is wait for fixes. I don't think any box will be perfect...

Yes. Of course that is true . Depends how devoted to their product they are . Or they just release another MK2 with the fixes included and drop support for the older one

By "much better luck receiving a 4:2:2 signal", do you mean in terms of signal strength or the receiver did a much better encoding the 4:2:2 video?

Not that I’m aware of. Don’t have a 4K TV to enjoy that experience either. 4.2.2 definitely not.

I’m quite aware what the GT can do according to the manufacturers claims. It’s how it handles those claims in real time that interests me.

Well it's never going to handle 4.2.2 perfectly I wouldn't have thought, unless you lash out 3K for a professional receiver..but for the hobbyist, it's ideal..

at least you get to see the feed now, so rather than a black screen, you have some idea of what the feed is, so if you really wanted to watch it, you could record it, and stream to VLC......

I've had mixed results with 4:2:2 signals. Some work perfectly and an Italian football feed this evening completely failed. The HDMI output seems stuck on UHD 60hz. Or is there a hidden menu to set the video output standard?

Yes.... this could be what your looking for
'Settings' > 'Droid Settings' > 'Display' > 'Screen Resolution' - take your pick from the list.

have you noticed that the SES UHD channels on 19e are dulled in colour - immediately after switching to them, you can see for a second, how bright and vibrant they SHOULD be, but then, as quick as a flash, they change to to like a misty dull appearance...

Is that what you’re looking for on 5w.

If it assists anyone the ZGemma H9S resolves Multistream channels without issue, including Rai 1 HD on 11016H.

I doubt very much it can handle 4:2:2 but if somebody can provide a receivable set of parameters for a 70cm dish in London I'll check in the next hour or two.

Just got around to checking this out - my Combo is set to auto res for the display and running at 4k2k-60hz . The display is a 4k UHD32" IIyama monitor - looked at all the fta UHD channels and there wasn't any change in picture quality going on.
