The channel has no video or audio pids until these are added FTA or encryption type cannot be ascertained until this happens some tuners will assume that it is encrypted.

Hi all!

It's been a while for me to post here. Hope all you guys are well. Some reception reports from me for Hellas Sat 3 in Bahrain. The reception varies throughout the day with signals between 9 db and 16 db. At around 08:30 PM the signal level drops and it comes back between 01:30 and 02:30 am. The following transponders are watchable 24/7.

- 12175V 30000 7/8, 12194H 30000 7/8, 12214H 30000 7/8, 12271H 30000 7/8

From 02:30am to 08:30pm the entire BSS and FSS beams are strong and watchable. The strongest DVB-S2 transponder is 12117H and it disappears last around 09:30 pm (times are local). Respectively, it's the first to come back.

The antenna is 2.4m offset Channel Master, LNB Inverto Black Ultra quad. Since last night I'm testing with Golden Media 204+, planning to test with Invacom C120 twin , with the CM feedhorn.

Moved back to 39e after A1 changed satellites, till now I was watching on 16e, which is watchable 24/7, but I will post a separate report for it.

Attached below is a picture that presents a recent scan result from both Hellas Sat 3 and Hellas Sat 4. The Hellas Sat 4 portion of the table has also been uploaded into the specific Hellas Sat 4 topic on the forum.

I had slight aspirations to lock one or two of the four regular broadcast Middle East beam frequencies from Hellas Sat 3 but failed to achive a lock on any of them. I could "see" three of them on the signal level indicator of a Dr HD F15 receiver but no luck in locking them. I did manage to get a lock on a feed from the Middle East beam.

There is nowt to say about the Europe beam frequencies apart from the fact that they are all with huge signal levels and well within the scope of the nano dish men.

I'm back

The frequencies on the Middle East beam from this satellite seem to be a little elusive to UK dx'ers?
However, I thought it worth a try and today managed to lock 5 frequencies from the Middle East beam, the list of locked frequencies is below.

1. 11466 H, SR7000 (three channel mux of Kuw002, Service Name and Service Name)
2. 11474 H, SR4444, ID = TANDBERG - RAS
3. 11516 H, SR2000, ID = default ID of 11516H SID 0x01
4. 11543 H, SR4000, ID = SNG04 Chain A
5. 11548 H, SR4000, ID = ADM SNG-06 Chain A

11474 H, SR4444, and 11516 H, SR2000, but both are below lock.

I get a few locks from this beam, but unfortunately all just data signals! Can 'see' Media Office channel on 11474H but just with a measly 0.7dB!

I managed to lock another frequency today from the Middle East beam on 39.0 East.
It looks like a feed for some type of cage fighting World Championships?

The newly locked frequency is 11553 H, SR4000, FEC of 5/6 with ID of SNG5 Chain A.
Screen grabs taken using a GTMedia Combo and an Octagon SF8008 are attached below.

The updated list of locked frequencies is as follows:

1. 11466 H, SR7000
2. 11474 H, SR4444
3. 11516 H, SR2000
4. 11543 H, SR4000
5. 11548 H, SR4000
6. 11553 H, SR4000 (new - SNG5 Chain A)

A quick rescan locked another feed today (show jumping).
This one is 11543 H, SR4000, FEC 5/6 and ID of ADM SNG-03 Chain A.

I locked a feed yesterday on the same frequency but it had a different ID.
A few screen grabs of this new one taken from a GTMedia Combo receiver are attached below.

The updated list of locked frequencies is as follows:

1. 11466 H, SR7000 (three channel mux of Kuw002, Service Name and Service Name)
2. 11474 H, SR4444, ID = TANDBERG - RAS

5. 11543 H, SR4000, ID = ADM SNG-03 Chain A (new today)
6. 11548 H, SR4000, ID = ADM SNG-06 Chain A
7. 11553 H, SR4000, ID = SNG5 Chain A (new today)

In addition to the GTMedia Combo, I have also been using an Octagon SF8008 for scanning the frequencies from 39.0E.
For those who like to have receiver tuner comparisons, I am finding that the Octagon SF8008 is consistently maintaining a lock at times when the GTMedia Combo loses the lock.

All of the feeds so far from the Middle East beam with SR4000 had an FEC of 5/6 and were 8PSK.
These parameters need a theoretical signal level of 9.4dB to achieve a lock which makes them unfriendly to dx'ers located in the UK and also a decent test for a receivers tuner.

The same frequencies seem to be getting recycled daily for feeds by different uplink crews, to be expected I suppose.
Today I locked a new feed on one of the previously used feed frequencies (11553H)

The new one is 11552 H, SR4000, FEC 5/6 and ID of TV-101.

3. 11516 H, SR2000, ID = default ID of 11516H SID 0x01
4. 11543 H, SR4000, ID = SNG04 Chain A
5. 11543 H, SR4000, ID = ADM SNG-03 Chain A
6. 11548 H, SR4000, ID = ADM SNG-06 Chain A
7. 11552 H, SR4000, ID = TV-101 (new today)
8. 11553 H, SR4000, ID = SNG5 Chain A

Another new one to add to the list, this time it is a soccer feed.
Parameters are 11538H, SR4000, FEC 5/6, ID = SNG2 Chain A, max signal level measured at 10.8dB.

A few screen grabs of this new one taken from an Octagon SF8008 receiver are attached below.
The updated list of locked frequencies is as follows:

Not much new to report today from the Middle East beam of 39.0E, it is the same batch of frequencies in use for feeds.
The list of locked frequencies remains unchanged from that in my reply above.

I have attached a few pictures below of todays scan including a picture from the Kuw002 three channel mux which is a basketball feed from Kuwait.
Also included in the pictures is a scan taken using Crazy Scan with a TBS6903 card.

I have superimposed on the Crazy Scan picture the signal level readings taken from the Octagon SF8008 receiver for those signals it locked.
The SF8008 readings hold up against the TBS6903 card which might be surprising, perhaps not?
To me, it suggests the SiLabs tuner and the drivers in the SF8008 are pretty decent.

Again, not much new to report today from the Middle East beam of 39.0E, it is the same batch of frequencies in use for feeds.
One new feed ID locked today, a soccer feed, details are in the updated list of locked frequencies below, pics attached.

I think this will probably be my last update for now regarding the Middle East beam of 39.0 East.
This satellite has been a decent challenge for fringe reception from a UK location.
The FEC of 5/6 used with 8PSK modulation on quite a few feeds requires a theoretical 9.4dB to lock and some of the feeds are borderline on the threshold for a lock.

01. 11466 H, SR7000 (three channel mux of Kuw002, Service Name and Service Name)
02. 11474 H, SR4444, ID = TANDBERG - RAS

There must have been some major reconfigurations on 46e over the last couple of weeks. I lost the remaining channels on 11174 H.
