Firstly, just want to say HI to all the forum members.
Now here is my problem.
Just had house renovated. Was told by a friend of mine to fit all cables into wall while house was been done. ( which I thought sensible ) He recommended some stuff but it does not work the way I wanted it to.
I have 8 rooms with tv capabilities. I have 3 cables to each room. 1 cable goes to single F type outlet for FREESAT HD ( 8 rooms) then I have 2 cables going to quadplex, labgear faceplates. Supposedly 3 signals down 1 cable ( 1 sat, TV, & DAB ) then 2nd cable is SAT 2 ( for sky +) So far so good.
This is where its confusing.
Got an 8 way Labgear Loftbox with inputs for LNB 1, LNB 2, TV, DAB etc etc. On outgoing side got 8 way distribution ( on loftbox) which does TV, DAB, CCTV etc then I have TRIPLEX output and LNB2 output.
Now, He intended originally to take cable from dish to DAB input and send out via 8 ways on box down to the FREESAT faceplates. ( seems viable)
LNB 1 & 2 inputs for SKY+ and TV into UHF. These a little more difficult. In theory the TV & LNB1 should go down the triplex and LNB2 on its own. However there is only 1 output for each on box.
So to cure the problem, he said to get 2x 8 way splitters and go from output triplex to 1 splitter then to each of the 8 points, then output lnb2 to splitter then to other 8 points. ( ideally this would work - BUT)
Once you plug in more than 2 outputs onto the splitter, they all go off!!!
Currently, I have 6 rooms with no TV at all and 2 rooms with connected directly to LNB on dish ( quad) and no FREESAT.
Anyone any idea how I can get this to work? re channeling walls to put extra cables in really is not an option.
I have no idea what they do but would it work if the splitters were changed for multiswitches???
If anyone has any ideas please post, I would be very grateful as I have emailed labgear, taylor bros and televes and not had a single reply.
If you can recommend any parts that will do the job please let me know.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
James 2
