Help regarding Bluestar Openbox

Hi everyone,

I'm new here so I hope I'm posting this in the right section!! Apologies if not.

I have attempted to search the forum with a similar topic but I couldn't find anything that answered me fully (and also some of it I just didn't understand!)

So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how I can upgrade my Bluestar Openbox? I really don't know how to do much with it :( but I was told that I can connect it to my PC and download software which will enable an upgrade??

Any advice would be really appreciated.

Generally you use a null modem cable, but some use standard serial cable. Your stb is not very common therefore I doubt there is unofficial support for it however there does seem to be some confusion here as you do not quote a model number only a name.

There appear to be Bluestars and there appear to be Openboxes but not Bluestar Openboxes

I would recommend you do a search in google and incestigate each possiblity, there may be somewhere in the world that does patches for it, on the other hand there may not.

Please be aware though that flashing your stb with an alternative firmware can damage your box and make it totally useless so unless you are 100% sure of what you are doing , don't do it
