How do I manually scan on a Mediastar mi-III?

hi there,
this is my first post - the thing is i want to know how to scan (manually) for 1 specific channel using a given frequency on quite an old receiver: mediastar mi-III. I would usually manage, but the thing is this is my friend's receiver - we live 2 oceans apart and he's not v good with electronics

i would appreciate any help at all from sm1 who knows this receiver type.

You could be in for quite wait for an answer if the receiver is a North America only box.

i dont think it is - my friend is in the middle east, so probably no just north america
