Hi there, setting up a dish first time can be very frustrating. Especially until you get the first signal, then it can be very rewarding, and lead you (or at least some of us) to buy multiple dishes and spend hours and hours tinkering with kit which strictly isn't necessary for watching TV. I dare boil down a bit what people are saying above: You need to make sure the dish is pointed *exactly* in the right direction for 28.2E. Then you can scan all the channels on that sat position. There are a few points of concern: 1) Why are you using a Unicable LNB? If you can, get hold of a normal LNB, and use that for adjusting. As @Tururu says, once you get a lock, you may consider swapping in the Unicable LNB. Unless you plan to multiple STBs attached to this paticular dish, the Unicable LNB bring no benefit at all. Recommendation: Get a "normal" universal LNB to align the dish. You need nothing fancy, so you should be able to get one for <10 GBP. 2) Why have you bought a motor? The Motor is just a gizmo that rotates the dish around an axis to allow the viewer to catch more than one satellite. It is *not* a pointing device. It need careful set-up and calibration to work, and this is even harder than setting up a dish for just a single (28.2E) position. Recommendation: Leave the motor in the box until you are comfortable with setting up a single sat position. 3) Are you pointing to 28.2E, or just any SAT? Using a signal finder (aka "beeper") just shows that there is somehing giving off a signal in the direction the dish is pointed. Mostly, this will be a satellite. (If not, it will be your neighbours microwave interfering with shoddy cable quality.) But it could be any of the >50 satellite positions that can be seen in the heavens above the UK. And you want only one specific of them. Namely 28.2E. The problem is that the beeper cannot distinguish between positions, it just shows if there is any signal at all. If extremely lucky, you may be pointing to 28.2E. To verify this, you need to do a channel scan, and if you get nothing, you're not pointing to 28.2E. Simple as that. Even if you *do* get some channels, it may be just some channels on a nother sat that uses the same frequency etc. Recommendation: Use guides elsewhere on this site to align dish correctly to 28.2E. If in doubt where, post a plea. Note: Without pics from you it is virtually impossible to tell you to do X, Y, and Z to get closer to a result. Recommendation: Whip out the camera, take some pics, and upload! SO: Firstly: We want to help you. Bear with us... Secondly: We need as much info to go on as possible. Secondly.1: Take pictures, and post 'em. Secondly.2: Answer the questions posted above, e.g. @Mickha about "have you done this before", and "how do you know you are poiting the dish in the right direction". Be as specific as you can, even though it seem daft, irrelevant or trivial. Secondly.3: Be ready to spend some time setting up and adjusting, and posting back lots of anwers + progress reports. There's a whole group of experts out here to help you - the more you post, the more they will reply! Thirdly: We do this for fun and tinkering. If you, on the other hand, just want to watch TV on the box and don't really need to fiddle around with dish pointing etc; ask for a friendly installer on this forum, and we can recommend someone fairly quickly to come and sort you out.
