That's correct. dyndns will give you the address by keeping tabs on your home IP address. I'm not familiar with the vu+ duo, but to get anything outside your network, you're going to need to forward the content via a port or put the vu+ duo in the DMZ. What that means is, your router assigns an (internal) IP address to each device inside your network (most routers by default use: 192.168.x.x). Your router probably also has a DMZ setting, where you can identify a specific IP address on your network that you will allow to be accessible outside the router firewall (this is not advisable for any storage you have for sensitive personal information, but probably OK for streaming media content). Set that DMZsetting to be the IP address of your vu+ duo. Anytime you use your dyndns web address from an external device, it should go straight to the web interface provided by the vu+ duo. If you let me know the specific brand and model of your router, I can provide more detailed instructions on how to configure it. If that doesn't work, or you want to try the port forwarding method, let me know. NB nobody should need to know, or ask you for, your network password in providing any assistance with this. So don't give any of that information away. Please let me know if this helps or you need anymore specific assistance.
