Its quite intersting being an Englishman working in Scotland at the moment. The barbed comments have started - no love lost between the Scots and their true masters ;) :D

The racial equality folks have been saying that Englishmen taunted by Scots during the World Cup would have grounds for racial discrimination legal action.....

The biggest selling item of sports kit in Scotland is the Trinidad football shirts, closely followed by Paraguay and Swedish tops!

As I set the poll up, my prediction is second in the group, out in the second round.

I think that many Scots are stuck in a 260 year time warp on the fields of Cullodan, let it go lads, it isn't worth hanging on to. :) :-lmao

If England were'nt playing, then I would support Scotland, or whichever of the home countries was playing, including Ireland, if none of them were playing then I would propbably go for our nearest European neighbours.

We've had the Englishman in charge of North Wales police advising that England supporters should'nt display flags on cars as it might offend the "natives" and lead to fights etc!

But it's ok for cars all year to display welsh dragons and St.Andrews cross's when they come on our turf, because we are more tolerent maybe?

Having worked on and off for many years in Scotland, they just about suffer us, and when they get together, the old enemy is often discussed, and the comments are not for the feint hearted.

The Welsh in North Wales are by and large not lovers of the English, and will change to Welsh if you enter a shop/pub. There is even a pub in Bala that will not serve you if you order in English!

It's ironic really as my Grandfather was Scottish, my Father Scottish, my Grandmother English and my Mother English!

I can trace back relatives from Wales and Ireland too!

I would support any of the countries that form the United Kingdom if they made it to the World Cup.

England is there because we have a bigger population to choose from and more competition leads to better players being created.

Will we get far in the competition? No! Will we scrape into the second round maybe. If we get to the second round depending on our position we could face Germany or Poland. Both have good squads and you have to fancy the Germans on home turf.

Someone was telling me earlier today that sales of Mars Bars have dropped by 80% in Scotland since the "Believe" rebrand.

Also some of the supermarkets have been removing anything from sale with the English flag.

Shouldn't be a problem with deep frying them though, as nobody knows what the wrapper said.:)

I believe the problem lies with the football commentators.

England are stuck in a '1966' time warp and the commentators mention it every chance they get, and some they don't! - that's what bothers the Scots (IMHO).

It would be better if we had our own commentators for the English matches.

Add to that the overkill of some players ankle on every news bulletin and newspaper, front and back pages!

I wish England the success they deserve :p

Let's see how long the commentators can go on Saturday before they mention 1966! Before a ball is kicked is my prediction.

P.S. My dad's English - well from Sheffield and Yorkshire want independence :-rofl2

No, that is often used as an excuse, but that being the case, why were Scots in 1966 cheering on England's opposition in all the matches? ;)

I agree though, you ought to have your own commentators, can't see why you haven't, you can have some of your politicians back while we are at it as well. :-lmao

I would add the gas as well, but if you've ever been in a pub in Aberdeen on a Friday night, the gas is not very nice. :)
