We've had the Englishman in charge of North Wales police advising that England supporters should'nt display flags on cars as it might offend the "natives" and lead to fights etc! But it's ok for cars all year to display welsh dragons and St.Andrews cross's when they come on our turf, because we are more tolerent maybe? Having worked on and off for many years in Scotland, they just about suffer us, and when they get together, the old enemy is often discussed, and the comments are not for the feint hearted. The Welsh in North Wales are by and large not lovers of the English, and will change to Welsh if you enter a shop/pub. There is even a pub in Bala that will not serve you if you order in English! It's ironic really as my Grandfather was Scottish, my Father Scottish, my Grandmother English and my Mother English! I can trace back relatives from Wales and Ireland too! I would support any of the countries that form the United Kingdom if they made it to the World Cup. England is there because we have a bigger population to choose from and more competition leads to better players being created. Will we get far in the competition? No! Will we scrape into the second round maybe. If we get to the second round depending on our position we could face Germany or Poland. Both have good squads and you have to fancy the Germans on home turf.
