Forgive my cheek in "answering" this. I've never flashed any sat receiver, nor used Linux (only Dec Ultrix unix, many years ago ......).

However, PAL/NTSC is stricly hardware, ie, your receiver MUST have the correct chips on board, otherwise you can't do anything, whether by flashing, or any other way.

Isn't there a hardware settings menu?

You can change the video setup (PAL - SECAM - NTSC) in the bootloader menu of my Triple Dragon, would have thought you could do something similar in the Relook.

There's usually a PAL/NTSC version of the same patch, at least there is with the TD images.

It's the TV that has to have the correct video standard for your application.

A bootloader menu is not provided to the user on the Relook

There are NTSC images and there are separate PAL images.

On the Dreambox you have a menu option that allows for the switching between NTSC and PAL. I would expect that the Relook will eventually have this as well.
