I bought a splitter and am wondering which cable/s to buy to join or add to the set up. I currently have a technomate receiver and want to add the openbox to my set up. I know there is a signal to my technomate box and a spare lead which I dont know what that is for.

My Satellite Setup
OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

A splitter is not going to work too good for a satellite signal.

As LeBelge said, a second connection to a dual output LNB on the satellite dish is the best way, as there are control signals and voltages comming from the main receiver out to the LNB on the dish that would get confused if you add a second receiver with a 2 way splitter.

Also some 2 way splitters cant handle the high frequency signals from the LNB.

Have you tried the spare lead to see if it has a signal you can use?

A loop through F-connector, at the back of your receiver?
That can be fed to another receiver. (But only one receiver can have control...)
