If you dig deep enough, will you come out the other side of the world, ie, AUSTRALIA?
Oops, sorry. As many people have noticed, the earth's diameter is 8000 miles, and not 4000 as I implied. Apologies to anyone who started digging ....... But, Christmas is coming! So, take a large spade, laser rangefinder, miner's helmet, boxes of compressed dates and Kendal Mint Cake, first aid kit, sleeping bag, and a copy of book "Digging Through to Australia, For Dummies". Wrap them all up together in glitzy paper. Makes a nice "novelty" present, especially for thoses awkward buggers who already have everything. Except for the book, you can probably get most of that really cheap, from Lidl. Puzzling place, Lidl. That thing they sell to put all your keys in, I've also seen it in garden centres. You fill it up with stale bread, hang up outdoors, then birds peck though the holes. But, there's nothing to stop you keeping keys in it instead, if you really want to. But, back on topic, yes, veer slightly right and you come out in South Island, popular since they filmed "Rings" there. Get it right though, cos if you go other way by mistake, you come up under the ocean .... Must go now, getting a signal from the mothership .....
