Certainly makes you think, I'm not a believer in maximum wages, but common sense has to prevail soon.

Certainly is even more obscene when you compare to this job

Project Co-ordinator

You will either have a background in a logistics or some form of sales co-ordination role and ideally be educated to degree level. Strong Microsoft IT skills are a must, especially in Excel. To be successful you will be an organised team player, confident to deal with people at all levels and capable of working to strict deadlines. You will be energetic and enthusiastic with a real "can do" attitude. You will be ambitious to develop and progress from what is viewed as a springboard position.

A salary of £14,000 to £18,000 depending on experience

So you need a degree and a couple of years experience, hence you must be at least 24 and they want you to work for that sort of money....jokers

So far they have 35 applications, probably from people trying to guarantee their benefits

It's all relative - that is an awful lot of money to me. Greater than our household income, yet we manage admirably.

Proper Needs met and expectations about Wants abated. Result >>> Contentment.

I agree with you but presumably your home is paid for so no rent to pay which would mostly eat up that pittance. As mentioned it cannot be much fun starting out in this day and age

True enough - my Daughter gets far more than we do, but struggles to maintain her Independence - That said, the young ones (rightly) spend a lot more on entertainment, luxuries, clothing etc as well.
