Hi,
I have a question regarding Sky box (I am outside the UK and I don't own a Sky box).
As far as I can understand, it is possible to choose between several different matches played at the same time, using the red button.
Does it mean that all these matches are broadcast via satellite? At the moment on Sky Sports 3 there is one match. What about the other three, which can be selected with the red button? Are they also on satallite or via the internet?
I am very curious.

If they are red button they will be transmitted via satellite

They are effectively Channels without name or number and are linked through natty coding to certain mainstream Channels.

This gives flexibility for BSkyB (and, hitherto, the BBC, until they cut their capacity in this respect right back recently) to create real-time choice for "worthy" events.

Does anyone happen to know the frequencies of those extra sports channels for Indian Wells tennis this week?

They are indeed transmitted by satellite - Ive just had a trawl through the interactive channels & 3 red button feeds are being transmitted on 12070H

Thanks, Analoguesat.

By the way, I understand they are just SD channels, unlike the main channel (in this case Sky Sports 3 HD).

Yes I think so, although there are rumours of HD red button channels coming. Not being particularly interested in sport I dont take much interest in whats happening with the Sky Sports channels apart from the rare occasions theres a new channel appears!

(The Sky telesales operators dont seem to believe anyone can have such disinterest in sport when they try to get me to upgrade - Ive given up taking to them now when they ring - I just put the phone down.)

The only sport I am interested in watching is badminton, which is hardly ever shown (although coverage has increased recently on Sky Sports - but I choose one of Danish sports channels, which are pro badminton!) and tennis if some pretty lady in a short skirt is playing and screaming like she's orgasming at that very moment......

Carry on...

Hi guys,
This week there is Montreal tournament on Sky Sports and my question is if they are using red button services so that viewers can jump between various courts?
I don't have access to Sky Sports at the moment but still I'd like to know.
Thanks.

Another question from me.
There is an ATP Tour in Paris this week and I can't seem to find the frequency at which Court 1 is being shown (red button). Central Court is now on Sky Sports 3. But what is the frequency of the other court where they are now showing Tursunov - Granollers match?
Please help.

All the SD sky red button feeds are on 10876V 22000 5/6

1381-1386 & 1481-1486 although last time I loked the two sets of feeds were just duplicates.

They are all flagged as data channels so wont show up on a Sky rx.

Thanks Analoguesat.
Aren't they also available on a European beam?
There are similar channels on 12070H 27500 2/3 but they seem to be different than the ones you are talking about.
