Intelsat 26 is the new name for the exceedingly elderly JCSAT-R which used to operate in Japanese skies for the Sky-Perfect pay tv operator..
JCSAT-R was launched waaaay back in August 1995 and will operate at 50.5E as an inclined orbit bird. She will be loaned to Turksat to keep the 50.5E slot which is allocated to Turkey open. (Turkey would have lost the slot if they hadnt got a satellite in place by the end of the year)
The footprints are provisional and show that the Ku coverage is not at all favourable for north eastern Europe.... For our friends with C-band equipment they may have a chance of C-band coverage.
