For those that are looking to convert their vinyl to digital and listen to it on their MP3/car system

http://www.ion-audio.com/ittusb.php

Prug and pray apparently, no drivers required.

Makro are presently having a sale where they come in at £70 +VAT

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

You'll probably need a phono stage (pre-amp) to connect a normal TT to your PC.

It's made of solid plastic! It's probably OK for the odd track, but I think it comes under the heading of "seemed like a good idea at the time". By the time you've had it playing for 20 minutes per album side and gone off to make a drink and recorded 20 minutes of the click at the centre of the record, you then need to enter the track information.......life's too short!! IMHO :-)

I started the Vinyl copying project a couple of years back, using a small pre-amped turntable bought from Richer Sounds, I managed one Album and the turntable is now permanently plugged into my Mum's mini stereo. :)

A friend is transferring his albums and cassettes....maybe that's why his house is still only half finished :)

And I bet he still won't get shot of the vinyl when he has copied it.

This unit comes into it's own when either
1) somebody in the industry wants to evaluate a new remasterd album, when compared to old, or
2)the odd transfer to the car/MP3.

It is not there to replace/upgrade the collection.
