Hi Guys

Calling to all IRS system installers.

I own a company installing basic sky/aerial systems, and was approached today by a guy asking if I was interested in installing an IRS system, after a lengthy discussion he asked how will the job be commisioned or will there be a certificate needed at the end of the job.

What is the general rule after installing an IRS system do you just list all the signal levels in a certificate???

Hi and welcome.

Please note discussion of domestic systems only in this section.

You'd have to commission up the system and record signal levels at the headend including the shortest and longest subscriber feeds for VHF/UHF and IF. As the regulations require the system to be earth bonded back to the MET - main earth terminal, this also needs to be checked and signed off by an electrician.

Thanks for the welcome...

Still finding my way around..

So do you leave a certificate at the headend with the signal levels, signed, or give it to the appropriate persons...

The latter... but there's no harm in leaving a copy of the recorded levels at the headend.
