I just got an AstroVox VSR-260 FTA SUPER new in a box

and I was reading it is possiable to convert it into a Fortec Star Life Time Ultra, and I was wondering is it possible?

I found this somewhere on this site

1. FIRST OPEN LOADER, THEN IN STB MODEL WRITE key:global
2. then in the bin file load delete. bin file and start downloading
3. then in the stb model write fta and in the bin file load the boot.bin file boot_fta_60_......and check the boot file in the file type and start downloading
4. now in the stb model write Al7bar FTA and in the bin file load file Al7bar FTA-0916-218 api and start downloading after that cheers your 2600 have converted into lifetime.
5 now in the stb model write fta and in the bin file load boot.bin file Al7bar FTA_FTA ver 60_040515 and in the file type check boot file and start download.
6. now in the stb model write Al7bar FTA and in the bin file load the latest bin file i.e Al7bar fta _050227_256_api and start downloading now ur receiver is patched with the latest software dated 28.2.2005.
SINCE I DONOT KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD FILES SO U PGUYS HELP ME HOW TO THEN I WILL UPLOAD THEM AS I PROMISED.

and if this is correct, I would like to know where the files are please,

I have no idea where such conversion files would be but certainly not on this site. If you had googled you would have found this :) like I did, I do not know if it is of any use to you. Just remember a word of warning flashing your stb with non standard firmware could make the stb fail completely so if you take the risk and it fails you lose out on your viewing.

Yes but if you bothered to read the thread you will see the warning from Llew about not posting the files on this site. Yes it is true the instructions are there how to do it but not the files and you must also bear in mind the age of that thread! I would not follow any instructions that are 3 years old
