The World Superbike Championship has been sold by the British-based Octagon Motorsports Group to the Italian company who originally set up the series in 1988.
The American-based Interpublic Group of Companies have transferred all rights to World Superbikes back to the Flammini Group.
Octagon and Flammini had run the series as part of a joint venture set up four years ago.
The deal not only covers the World Superbike Championship but also World Supersport, European Superstock and World Endurance.
Flammini have rebranded their motorsports division as FGSPORTGROUP and are planning to embark on new projects.
Maurizio Flammini, founder and president of the Flammini Group, promised the aim was to expand the appeal of the championship under the new ownership.
"Our partnership with Interpublic has been highly successful and their support has been fundamental in establishing the superbike series on the world stage, particularly with regards to international sports marketing," he said.
"We really look forward to putting much of our learning in to practice over the next development stage of the World Superbike Series."
Paolo Flammini, president of Superbike International, said: "The support received from the IPG with regards to consolidating the Superbike World Championship on the worldwide scenario has been fundamental."
