She told me that this is because ITV HD is not transmitted as a separate channel, like the BBC, but is provided as a 'Red Button Service'.This apparently means that when they decide to transmit a programme in HD, a red button will appear on-screen. If you have a Freesat HD box, pressing the red button will allow you to watch in HD.I haven't tried this yet, but the next time I see a red button appear, I'll give it a go.</blockquote>
