After one and a half years of trying I've finally pulled. TPS Star that is. Atmospheric conditions or increased transmitting power I don't know, but at last we can get it in W. Turkey. Just watched Man U - Charlton and Arsenal - Wigan in a "simulcast". It should be named "alternicast" as it switches between matches in the same way as I do when I'm channel hopping.
What a goal fest! And what a joy are the French commentators. No idea what the're saying, but so much fun and enthusiasm! Unlike the local Turkish commentators who seem capable only of saying the name of each player as they get the ball. Wake up TV8, you're crap.
And what a nice bloke is Pires. A true Brit, even if he's Spanish. Why did they take him off?

He is French but of Spanish origin (one of parents I think).

P.S. One method to determine the origin of a footballer is going by his diving, his style has a lot of Spanish elements (see also Reyes). The experienced diving observer notes the excellent counter rotating hand movement whilst simultanious looking accusingly at rev when in mid air. After landing (if not going for the more difficult "I am dying as if shot rolling round on the ground routine") both hands are spread at 45° from body downwards, shoulders close to head. This position is held for at least 5 seconds for the required effect. The French diver prefers hands raised at a sharp angle upwards while running around, turning to ref and linesmen in fast 360° turns).
