The Finn got off to a wonderful start, made all the better when teammate Felipe Massa beat 2nd on the grid Fernando Alonso to the first corner. The pair never looked back, and Raikkonen won the race just over 3 seconds ahead of Massa.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Ferrari’s blissful afternoon was in stark contrast to those behind.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">A multiple collision between Sutil, Coulthard and Vettel in lap 1 saw the safety car make its first appearance in the race. Nelson Piquet was the first of top 10 runners to drop out in lap 8.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Lap 22 saw the nasty high speed exit of Heikki Kovalainen. Medical staff were on the scene quickly to attend to the Finn who went nose-first into the tyre barrier, and thankfully latest reports confirm that Heikki is fit and well.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Lewis Hamilton, starting in 5th, had to work hard to achieve a 3rd place podium finish. He stuck closely to former McLaren driver Alonso for 4th place prior to the first round of pit stops.
