No, not this time.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Kovalainen was coming around and was sure to take pole, blasting away all previous sector times. But that was not the whole story, as before Kova could be seen coming through Woodcote to take top spot, the car of Mark Webber appeared as if by magic to steal 2nd spot on the grid from Kimi!</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">The top 2 in the Drivers' Championship, Felipe Massa and Robert Kubica, were conspicuous in their absence from the fight for pole. Kubica was prevented from setting a time in Q3 due to mechnical problems in the pits, while Massa was perhaps dealt a harsher blow - he set a time, but a wheel nut stopped him for going out for the all-important 2nd flying run. Massa is 9th, Kubica in 10th.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Kubica's Q3 no-show allowed teammate Nick Heidfeld to finally outqualify him for the first time this season by going 5th. Behind Heidfeld is the Renault duo of Alonso (6th) and Piquet (7th), and qualifying in 8th was Sebastian Vettel - impressive considering Sebastien Bourdais in the partner Toro Rosso sits in 13th.</span></p><p></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Hamilton was not the only Brit to have a bad day on home soil. David Coulthard, racing in his final British GP after announcing his retiring at season's end earlier this week, only just missed out on a place in Q3 in 11th, and Jenson Button's 17th is no surprise in the horrible Honda.</span></p></blockquote><p></p>
