However, the red bullet of Massa’s Ferrari put a massive dent in those dreams.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Starting in 3rd, Massa got off to a fantastic start, passing Kova easily and launching himself around the outside of turn 1 to overtake Hamilton. It was a stunning piece of driving, and McLaren were made to look like fools.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">After the first round of pit stops, Massa was still leading Hamilton, and it appeared that Hamilton would have a real job on his hands to find his way through the back-markers and overtake Massa before the end.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Unfortunately for Lewis, such slim hopes were diminished quickly by tyre failure. A puncture saw Hamilton chugging his way to the pits and falling down to 11th. His challenge was over.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">And that was it, Massa was the winner. Or so we thought. Massa, in one of the cruelest turns of fate yet to befall him, was a mere 3 laps from the chequered flag when his Maranello-designed engine let go at the very worst time. Had he won, Massa would now be leading the World Championship.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Kovalainen was in 2nd behind Massa, having another textbook, albeit unspectacular race when suddenly he was on his way to a maiden F1 race win.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Following the Finn was Timo Glock. Qualifying in 5th, Glock produced a clinical performance in his Toyota, the highlight of which was holding off an end-of-race attack from Kimi Raikkonen (3rd).</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">Hamilton</span></span><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'"> recovered from the earlier disaster to complete the distance in 5th, just behind Fernando Alonso. This sees linhas go up to 6th in SupaLiga, his highest position since the Belgian GP last season.</span></span></p><p></p><p><span style="color: black"><span style="font-family: 'Franklin Gothic Medium'">There were two other centurions today – ScotBordersF1 (100pts) is now in 4th, and Honda Williams took 103pts today… and yet <em>still</em> fell down 1 to 8th!
