Superluminal travel, or permanent wormholes.
A 'tube' is created, connecting Earth to a point (planet around a star for example) 3000 light years away.
At relativistic velocities, the journey through this tube takes 1.5 years from the traveller's perspective.
At the other end, rather than travelling back in the original tube, they create a second.
In 3 years of travel time they will arrive back on Earth, but 6000 years in the future of their departure. But now that two Krasnikov tubes are in place, astronauts from the future can travel to the star in the second tube, then to Earth in the first, arriving 6000 years earlier than their departure. The Krasnikov system has become a time machine.
