Hello, thanks for having me.

I have recently bought a Freesat TV (LG - 32LQ63006LA)
When I tried to plug in the Co-Ax into the (single) socket on the TV, searching for channels found nothing.
After some online research, I realised that it was because I had previously 'upgraded' my LNB to a Quad band and that the TV doesn't support this.

I came to the conclusion that I need a 'Legacy' LNB and bought this:

Labgear Universal Twin 2 Output LNB for SKY HD/Freesat HD TV KU Band Satellite Receiver

My TV recognises this and has tuned 111 TV channels, but I can only watch half of them ("No signal" on the rest)

From my earlier research, I understand that some LNBs 'split' the channels over the two cables and only plugging one in will obviously only offer half the channels.
In an ideal world, I would like to keep my old Freesat box (UHD-4X Smart 4K Ultra HD Digital TV Recorder) connected.

Can anyone advise if there is an LNB that has two outputs, both with all channels so that I can connect both TV & box, please?

Thanks in anticipation

Best wishes
Mitch

A Quad LNB has 4 separate outputs, any one of which should be suitable, for your needs. Itis a Quattro LNB that has Horizontal High, Horizontal Low, Vertical High and Vertical Low.

Can you please check the polarity, of the channels you can receive, if it's Horizontal, or Vertical channels, that are showing no signal?
More likely your transponder list might be out of date, as transponders change quite often, and some SD, Standard Definition, are closing down.

You can check the available, FTA (Free to Air), on Astra 2, 28.2E:

Thanks for your reply Mickha, unfortunately none of it made any sense to me!

Maybe my terminology was incorrect; the 'Quad' LNB I just replaced only had 2 outputs (but I was able to record 4 channels)
The replacement also only has two, but channels are split between cables, ideally I'm looking for an LNB with 2 cables, but all channels on each cable, if that's even a thing.

Apologies if I'm being thick; I'm out of my comfort zone

A Quad LNB has 4 separate, equal, outputs, so you can run a cable from output 1, to your TV, or receiver, and get all the channels, the same with output 2, 3 and 4, so you can run 4 separate cables, to 4 different tuners, and all will work.

A Quattro LNB is meant for multiple viewing, spread around the house, hotel, guest house, etc.., where you need to send feeds to a large number of rooms, so not required, in your case.

A Twin LNB has 2 outputs, each of which can transmit all transponders, thus you can view all channels, on both your TV and receiver.

Can you please post the details, of the channels, showing no signal, and those you can get a signal, so that we have something to work with.

Did you previously have a Sky Q installation, or is it an older dish/LNB, installed by Sky, or a dish you've installed?

Thanks again Mickha

It was originally a Sky install, but I replaced the LNB a few years ago, when I got the Freesat 4k box.
Might the terminology by 'wide' rather than 'Quad'? It certainly had 2 outputs, but 4 streams.

I've currently got both plugged in to my old box, I'll switch cables later and update you on channel availability

Appreciate your help

Well, I'm *proper* confused now. Neither cable gives me anything at all now, when plugged into the TV, though it did at the weekend

To answer the question about the split channels; if I remove one of the cables from my old box, I lose these channels:
102/4/7/10/12/14/16-24 (I didn't check them all)
Removing that cable and connecting the other gives the exact opposite results, although BBC2 seems to need both cables to work

I can see and adjust some settings on the TV:

LNB frequency: 9750/10600
Transponder : 10714,H22000
DiSEqC: B
I don't know if these are helpful

As ever; I'm grateful for any advice or feedback

I don't know why you have DiSEqC B, as this is usually only required when using a DiSEqC switch, unless this is for the two LNB outputs.

Is this information from your TV or the Freesat box?

I'll try to find some manuals, for your television and Freesat box, later tomorrow.

That was from the TV

Also in settings:
22kHz Tone: Off
LNB Power: toggled on
DiSEqC has choices: Off/A/B/C/D/ToneA/ToneB
Unicable: Toggled off
MotorType: Off

Thanks again for your help

Didn't realise they'd started making twins again, most Sky 2 output LNBs are Wideband, which would have been what your 4k box would have required for recording 4 channels. Is it definitely the LNB you link to, or a similar looking one? Unfortunately terms are often confused, in LNB terms a twin LNB has two similar outputs (universal) which are swappable, a Dual LNB (which a Wideband LNB is) has two different output, one Vertical and one Horizontal, so if you swap them around the tuner is receiving different signals. You comment above about switching the cables around and changing the channels you could recieve may indicate it's a Wideband LNB, which unless the TV has a Widebad setting, won't work.

The below settings should work with a universal LNB (standard LNB, check the connectors on the cable ends at the TV as well.

LNB frequency: 9750/10600
Transponder : 11023,H23000
DiSEqC: off
22kHz Tone: on/auto
LNB Power: toggled on
DiSEqC has choices: Off
Unicable: Toggled off
MotorType: Off

This was really useful, thanks

I was able to adjust all the settings except the 22kHz; I can't change that.

But I seem to have most channels, BBC3 & 4 being exceptions, showing "Invalid service"

This is great progress.
What it means though, is that I now only have half the channels (as described above) on my old Freesat box (which has the other coaxial cable plugged in) which I'd ideally like to keep 'live'. Is there a way to achieve that?

Loving the advice I'm getting, thanks so much

You see, that's the intelligence level you're dealing with here

That's good news though, I'm 3/4 to my goal - now if I can figure out how to get all channels on my old box, I'll be absolutely delighted

My thanks again

That is how it should be.
It is used automatically, after you set the LNB frequencies to 9750 and 10600.
(The 22kHz option should then be 'greyed out', or without further consequence; as the 9750/10600 setting "overrules" your choice options of 22kHz.)
