I remember the old analogue days when you could connect a external demodulator to get better sensitivity to the receiver, eg lower C/N threshold.

Now i found a link to a German company that produces a external demodulator for the same thing but for digital signals.

I would love to try this out ASAP, maybe it can help a bit when receiving Astra 2D.

Thanks for posting that information. I read their technical specs and got quite excited as here in Cyprus such a unit should make a difference between receiving, or not receiving, 2D. But then I saw the price!!

Not suitable for use on digital systems. For analogue use only.
Several digital carriers are contained in the whole 27MHz bandwidth - decreasing the bandwidth with the Digitex will be of no use at all.
Don't be confused by the name - Digitex have been around since the pre-digital days. 'Digital' in their case means using a digital process with a PLL chip to demodulate the 480 MHz IF. Try using that in a receiver with a ZIF tuner!
