hi my friend has a pub and in it he has 2 dreamboxes 500, one with a digitalb card and one with a sky italia card and he has a sky box.

He has 4 sat dishes so each box has its own dish, he has 4 TV's but may want more in the future.

when i was in the army (many years ago) we had 7 sky boxes in the attic they were all plugged in to a "device" then in all the rooms you could tune your telly via RF cable in to what ever channel the sky boxes were on. chan 1 bbc 1 chan 6 sky 1 chan 7 sky sports 1 etc etc

This is the type of box we want for the pub, something we can plug in 3 ish composite (yellow red white) sets of leads and on the output just 4 or more RF connectors. ( i suppose similar to a hotel system)

does this exist? if so any links, advice or prices?

Thanks

Yes a SMATV system. Something like this for example for 5 receivers would work _http://www.globalinvacom.com/products/eqa5.php

A few options available but depends on how many receivers and channels are being distributed.

a/ RF loop through 3 receivers at a time feed into a programmable cluster filter before amplification.

b/ External modulators either DSB or VSB feeding a launch amp and passive network.

Channel planning and allocation, taboo channels and signal levels all have to be considered when installing such systems.

Hi mate thanks for the advice and although this does whjat i want i dont think it is the right device.

i will be combning 3 boxes, 2 dream one sky. the other stuff you askred about i am unfamiliar with.

Surely there is an amp type box that does this? what do hotels use? i only want to power 2 TV's and if possible have the facility to increase to 4

Some hotels have equipment installed mentioned above. You said he has 4 TV's but may want more in the future, so a good planned system would be in order.

For a quick fix you could RF loop through each box and then into a 4 output amp.

Dreamboxes don't have RF loop throughs, so you'll need two RF modulators for the Dreamboxes, you can then loop them through the Sky digibox and into a distribution amplifier.

Oh yes, lol these domestic double side band modulators would be well up for the job _http://www.philex.com/parts/show/27851R :)

Maybe i am not the right guy for this install. i was looking for something with say 4 yellow component inputs and on the other side 4 RF coax style outputs. the device would combined the signals being input and then distribute them to the TVs. maybe i should invent this device!

what is this device?

No that's a multi-switch for distribution at IF (950-2150Mhz).

You require modulators as already said.
