My Satellite Setup
80cm satcatcher dish, technomate 1500.

A couple of nights ago my reception was a bit dodgy during the Aberdeen v Hibernian and City v Boro games, then yesterday I lost my Art channels and Al Jazeera sport altogether.

As it was pretty windy I blamed that and just hoped it would come back in the morning. Nothing. I have a couple of channels like Sportitalia and Thai Global Network so I think mu dish is still on 13e, but I've lost the only things I really need it for.

Has anybody else had a similar problem?

Morky.

Don't think anything has changed, perhaps your dish has been gradually moving.

Probably mate.

It's only been up there for a few days (on the chimney stack) but it has at times been bouncing round a fair bit in the wind. I'm watching sportitalia now and it's perfect, so I was worried Art might have had problems.

Maybe it's just a stronger signal and my dishes slight movement won't stop me picking it up.

Cheers.

ART are regularly reported to be slightly weaker than the other 13E channels.

Ah, so it is possible that my dish is slightly off. I can still pick up others, but Arts weaker signal is lost.

What a kick in the nuts!

I'll ring the lads who installed it for me then to see if they can adjust it slightly.

Thanks a lot fellas.

The chimney stack is about the last place for a 80cm dish, it needs a much more secure and sheltered place.
I wouldn't place anything bigger than a 45cm dish on a chimney stack, there must be somewhere else.

The transponder for Art Sports is not the strongest on Hotbird and if your dish is "bouncing round a fair bit in the wind" I would imagine that's where your problem might be.

If I was you I'll ring the lads who installed it and get them to move it, remember the dish doesn't have to be that high up.

just setup my system in the last couple of weeks and when on hotbird i get 90+ signal on nearly all tps but art is like 74-78% has this tp always been like this ?

i thought it was on hotbird 7a but flysat and lygnsat report it as hotbird 2 ?

so i guess its on a lower powered tp

I use a 1.1m dish on a patio pole. The advantage of this is it is easy to maintain should anything need resetting. Art is fine here in mid wales good strong signal even with the heavy rain today watched 2 games. Like mentioned above 80cm on a chimney is, too, big almost certainly moved. Is it possible to rig up some extra supports, perhaps a strap to the dish edge from behind or cables. Not the weather for resetting either, good luck.
