Technomate 5402 HD M2 Ci, DM7000s, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Promax HD Ranger+ spectrum analyser.

Not sure if there is a course that you can take, it's not simply a case of reading up, you will need a large amount of practical experience and a certain minimum level of equipment. You can probably get details of what's available from CAI, the confederation of Aerial Industries.

You could always start by looking at some of the dedicated publications of a couple of years back for starters

Frank Baylin (Baylin Press)

Wireless/Cable and SMATV - nearly 400 pages but is lacking on the new digital requirements

Digital Satellite TV - over 450 pages and covers both analogue and the advent of digital in the home/office/hotel, brilliant system design and installation chapters and all manner of link budget calculations

Both I believe are available from Amazon.com (seriously Im not advertising)
