I currently have a diseqc motor/dish setup with a quad feed LNB.Feed one passes through the diseqc motor attached to the dish and into an MVision HD200 and the other feed runs directly into a Hauppauge HVR4000 card in my PC.I can obviously move the dish with the MVision on but I have to keep switching between the the different AV inputs on the TV.The Hauppauge only supports diseqc 1.0 so it can't drive a dish.I thought about running the feed that goes to the diseqc motor through a Technomate V3 box which I have so it could drive the dish without the MVision turned on.This seems to be a bit messy though.Anyone any ideas on this

It should be possible to use Diseqc 1.2 or USALS with your card. I have the Hauppauge WinTV Nova HD2 (same card without DVB-T). The application DVBViewer I use does have the option for using USALS to move your dish. Don't use it myself, so can't help further.

Get a small LCD TV permanently connected to the Mvision maybe.

or

Get a Linux machine instead and control the motor vi the web interface on the PC

or

Work out how to get Diseqc 1.2 working on your PC card, and loop through the feed from the Mvision, instead of running a separate feed. With the Mvison off, a second receiver(eg the PC card) shoild be able to take control of the motor.

Hauppauge clearly state their cards don't support other than diseqc 1.0.It appears that it is not advisable to drive a dish motor through the power rail on a PC anyway.I have a Skystar 2 HD card that has a seperate 5 volt molex connector on board but the DBViewer software that comes with it doesn't support disecq 1.2 as it is only a stripped down version of the software.Didn't realise this when I bought the card.In fairness Hauppauge are coming close to developing WinTV 7 as a serious contender in the DVB card/software world.Just waiting for diseqc 1.2 and its complete.A lot of progress made since that awful Powercinema crippleware.

I like the sound of the seperate LCD screen so I will go that route and report back.I am using ProgDVB and its probably the best generic DVB software out there.A little unstable when it comes to codecs but best of the bunch
