My Satellite Setup
5 Dish Antenna's:
Hotbird 1-5
AsiaSat 3S
PanAmSat 7/10
Arabsat 2A
Nilesat 101
My Location
Dubai, UAE
I have recently moved into a big home. Still trying to settle down a lot of things. For the satellite TV, I have the following setup. Please check the attached image.

On the terrace, there are 4 main wires coming out. 2 for First Floor and 2 for Ground Floor. First Floor and Ground Floor each have a box inside wall where all the wires are coming out in one place from all the rooms and the 2 main wires.

For example, for Ground Floor box inside wall, 2 main wires from the terrace are coming here and also 8 rooms wire. But are not connected. This is similar to the first floor also.

I would like to ask now how will I have all the satellite dish connections coming down to each rooms. I have read about multiswitches, but I am getting confused if I use a multiswitch, then I will be needing multiswitch to multiswitch solution.

Please advise if I am looking at it in the wrong way. And Also detailed instructions on how to do so.

Thanks in advance.

No-one else has come forward so I'll see if I can help.

I don't quite understand what you're saying so some of the reply will be general. Firstly, have a read of this thread http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/...stribute-sat-signals-multiple-sat-tuners.html which will save me repeating a little.

To get a satellite signal to each room (16 in total) you need a 16 out multiswitch. This will just feed an ordinary receiver but if you have a PVR such as (in the UK) $ly+, Freesat+ or similar which has two inputs you will need two cables. If there is going to be a PVR in each room you will need 32 cables and a 32 out multiswitch.

The multiswitch takes four cables from the Quattro LNB on the input. If you want to, you can also combine terrestrial TV signals to make what is called a 5 in.

So it looks as if the two pairs of cables you already have will not be of any use for anything. The multiswitch needs to be indoors in a sheltered place with an electrical supply.

From your diagram it looks as though you want 5 different satellite signals to be available. I don't think it's possible to combine more 4 satellites together as the biggest multiswitch I have been able to find is a 17 in 16 out which might leave you short of outlets in the rooms.

It IS possible to amplify and split the signals from the LNBs and then have a 17 in 16 out on each floor but there would be a truly monumental amout cabling all over the place and I really think that you need a professional to install this.

Another thing to consider is that any satellite receiver needs to be able to issue DiSeqc commands to view multiple satellites. A non-DiSeqc receiver will only "see" the satellite designated as the first one.

hello
this is a big system is this a hotel?
there will have to be several dishes on the roof of this house or building. for 6 satellite system you will 4 lines from each lnb and a 24 input 32 output multi switch.
it would take a few weeks to set up something like this.
each room will need 2 lines if you want pvr system.one to record one to watch.
expect to pay several thousand dolars
you need 2 lines per room going to the head end were the multi switch is.
at the head end there will be 32 lines there and i am not sure they make a 32 output switch.
they make a a 16 output for sure and there are models that 2 16 outputs can be connected togeather.
each satellite feed needs 4 lines to the multiswitch
because each group are seperate, some dishes can have 2 or 3 lnb so one dish can have2 lnb and 8 wires comming down.
c band will need its own dish as well.
only a profesional comp.can install something like this and only someone that has done hotels with a complex system as this.
some satellite may require a 2 meter dish in your area as well.
