Better weather yesterday meant I could get outside again to fine tune the dish and set the limits on the positioner. First off, I've found 17 transponders on 55.5W, these are linear so I've removed the plate but compared to the list at Lyngsat the polarities are the wrong way round. The LNB, an ESX241 was set to 0 skew at due south (it's stamped on the back of the LNB) so I kinda assumed it was correct but now it suggests I'm 90° out? It's not a show stopper as I build my own lists from blindscanning but will have to remember if I'm importing anything. 2.8E, I've got a strong promo channel for Eutelsat named 'Tadiran Scopus' 3760R 5787 3/4. Incidentally, if you do tune it in listen from about half way through, there appears to be breakthrough from an SSB transmission, strange! Curiously, when I was in the garden setting it up I was also getting 4102R but since bringing it all in doors I can't get a sniff of it even though it shows quite well on the spectrum. I've not had any luck further east so far, looks like my only targets will be 10, 20 and possibly 30°, 40E is inclined and can't do that at the moment, 49 is obscured by trees. Not sure what remains to the west, 43?, anything else further west than 55 I might aim for?
