can the GT MEDIA COMBO lock that TP - if so, then i can try this TP -- i know the Edision MIO can't (im pretty sure anyway)

Assuming i'm not having a Senior moment - a few grabs from 45W this morning with the 5 radio channels.
Rx used: GTCombo, PC card 6903/CS, Promax

Thanks @John . Does it find it on blind scan or have to enter manually ?

I will need to do it manually as I nudge the dish over to find the signal . Just wondered

Semi Senior moment - - should have said received on CM 1.2 with SMW NON Universal lnb ... So the 'Vertical' indication given on the grabs is the product of the operating parameters of the SMW Type G pll wr75 lnb, LO 10000. and the software of the GTCombo. The actual SMW lnb was physically in Horizontal rx position.
**For maniac01, found them on normal blind scan

interesting - tonight - nothing.....not touched setup.

There is a variation in signal level over the course of a day.
I found at my location that early evening was the best time around 18:30 +/- 1 hour.

Badr-6MENA11862V275003/4DVB-SQPSK5.34.84.85.25.95.96.36.67.06.4

Some of the frequencies on the beams that are fringe to a UK location vary in signal level during the day and sometimes can only be locked at certain times.
It is not just confined to 26.0 East, other satellites with UK fringe beams exhibit the same variance.

i will play with LNB position later and see if it comes in

Has your pole moved?
You will find the same with C Band, certain channels will only come in at certain parts of the day...could also be weather related...

its back tonight - weather maybe....?

i thought the vbox might be causing edision mio 4k to breakup on 26e - MBC Iraq - but it wasnt - i went direct in to test, and it was still very slight breakup, the GT MEDIA COMBO however, held signal without breakup. solid pic - but this is as fringe as it gets for me...the slightest margins.

i do wonder how the octagon would hold up, but in use by 1.2 currently.

Hmmm, GT Combo maintains a lock but the MIO gets breakup, I would class that as fringe rather than extreme fringe
It does seem to indicate the tuner in the GT Combo is decent.

im just about to swap over the octagon sf8008 from 1.2 setup to the 1.8 setup (the MIO can go on the 1.2)

i know from past experience the SF8008 tuner is better than the MIO

(i also made new fly leads (using better coax) from vbox to stb - but it didnt make one oz of difference) - was worth a try.

yes, the GTMEDIA deffo has better tuner than MIO

Confirmed now - swapped my MIO 4K over with the Octagon SF8008 - no breakup on MBC IRAQ HD on 26e (MENA beam) and thats going through VBOX.

However, i think it only comes in around this time of night - will check in morning.

"Social Network" movie showing currently.
DB reading: 4.0 - 4.5db

edit - since posting 5 mins ago: its gone up to 5.0db

for this dish i used green water based chalk paint found here - i used a roller to do it as advised by @moonbase :)

for the pole, and bracket i used a red metal primer (screwfix) - and then this green spray:

Very good result.
This is what I can get with my CM 180 from Northern Bavaria (8:22GMT)
only the GTMedia Combo 4K is able to present an "Image".

presume youve tried nudging your dish both ways?

it is time dependant re signal on this TP, depending where you're based. i get no signal at the moment - i will check around 3pm 6pm and 9pm to see when it comes back (UK)
