check back tomorrow - i will spend some proper time on it. still no change - hoping some T-plate action might help. i then need to work out how to combine CBAND and KU LNBs in a position and not keep swapping.

im going to give the other tit LNB a go again too....

Looks like you are going to use the 24" actuator after all.

He could "sidecar" the C-Band LNBF but that comes with some loss of signal level and having to use two controller positions per satellite, one for C-Band and one for Ku-Band.

Simplest solution is to stick up another dish and have one for C-Band, one for Ku-Band
I got a nice Precision 2.0m dish 'ere for sale at huge wad.

well the good news is, i just about managed to get ESPN on 3980 L but it was so cold and windy i gave up - there might be some peaking to be acheived, maybe with a Nelson T Plate for example.

it seems to be ONE of the weakest TP's on the sat ...at least for a small 1.8'er like me

the other good thing is the interference has gone away.

While you have the C-Band kit setup on the dish it might be worth a sniff of 38.0 East?
There is no breadboard or polo pipe required, the satellite is linear polarity in C-Band.

Along with 43.1W, I have 38.0 East as one of the tougher challenges to achieve a decent number of frequency locks from a UK location.
There is a detailed topic for 38.0 East in C-Band, link below.

Based on personal experience, I found that for 38.0 East I had to nudge the dish marginally off the satellite to the West to get away from interference from 40.0 East.
The Russian satellite at 40.0 East is very strong and interferes with signals of similar frequency on 38.0 East.
Once you are in the 4000 MHz and above range you are clear of the Russian satellite and the dish can be centred back on the correct Azimuth for 38.0 East.

got strange goings on with cband on 40.5w - i find i get better signal when pointing the LNB to the right of centre and upwards .....whats that about? - is it due to the circular TPs and the position of the plate in the LNB and skew? i.e if i roated the LNB 180 degrees would i then get better signal when pointing to the left of the dish i wonder...?

From your description it tells me three things:-
Miss alignment of lnbf not actually pointing at the G spot of the antenna
To compensate this the dish has to be physically nudged a half degree or so Off the true pointing position for 40.5 West.
The two above resulting in incorrect illumination of the dish.
Send for the Vicar :p

+1 agreed, except possibly sending for a higher grade of clergy

What a day . I didn't have a chance today to tweak cband. Decided to realign my 1.2 which has been knocked out since the storms. Spent hours but gave up think motor isn't clamped onto pole plumb. Then I turned attention to the 1.8 and put Ku lnb back on 1.8 ready for wrestlemania tonight . Then we had friends over and their car was broken into right next to our house so spent an hour hoovering the glass and taping up window

Nice one, that Fox mux from 4.05W is a decent catch on a 1.8m dish, looks like you have plenty of margin.
Well gives me hope anyway
