Think my perfectly flat workshop floor would suffice. Tried a frozen pond have you?

People waiting for winter to "pond test" their dish.
Would need a decent public park to "pond" an Elite 3.7m

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Of course.

It doesn't have to be deep, an inch is as good as a fathom. You can create same on a patio with a pool membrane, or a fibreglass roof.

Dish is left beached, high and dry when tide goes out.
Hyde Park will probably take a dim view of anyone trying to "pond" a large dish on the Serpentine.

Comedy gold, you could not make this up.
Correction...

Ah, it's been up, and then dismantled since I am looking for a stronger front end than the three arm affair it came with to carry the planned electronics.

This thread is making me want to go sort out my own install. It's been neglected for far too long.

Sorting out the alignment, which has been knackered by the winter storms, as well as getting the Venture jacks relubed (oooerr).

Getting another C band LNB up on the for linear polarity will be a separate job (not keen on the LNB changer as I could never get it perfectly aligned).

I also have a stiff one that needs a good seeing to.

ive gone back to KU band on the 1.8m now that footy season is over - i was missing the feed hunting aspect. i will try and rig up my CBAND LNB above my KU one, so i dont need to have 2 setups.

however, i doubt i'll ever have it as good as pure CBAND as i did in a dual mode. ESPN was solid

You need a 'Trust' LNB revolver...20220523_210747.jpg20220523_210756.jpg

I have the LNB revolver kit in pieces. I tried it once but couldn't get the same levels of signal as I do without it.

When I get more time (ahahahaahahahaha!), I need to revisit the project, now that I have @dreambox1959's excellent positioner with LNB revolver option in it. And the necessary cables are already laid...
