Hi friends ..
One for the experts I think ..
My old girl has been standing proud in all weather for over 20 years now ...and as expected shes developed a few rickets along the way..
Yes she has new legs but her body I suspect is a bit stooped ...but how much as acceptable .
Hopefully if I feel up to it this summer I might well remove the dish and start over ...or at the least ...employ CHs 'shake down method.
Ok ..so I've strung her up to see how much movement has been introduced over the years..
The photos attached show there is little change front to back/depth wise ...but there is some variation showing the strings ...in my case wires...dont cross exactly in the centre ..
She may have new legs ..but her back is a bit bowed.. ;)
so my question is ..
How much will this amount of error affect the overall gain of the dish ..?
remember it is only being used for Cband ..not KU ...but since I'm after maximum gain ...any error is not good ..
For most applications this is probably tollerable ..but for DXing ...maybe not..
any input is very welcome..
