From BBC Football Gossip page:

Not one player at Chelsea, one of the richest football clubs in the world, agreed to contribute any of their wages to the May Day For Nurses campaign, where footballers are asked to give a day's wages to hard-up Nurses. Of all the 556 Premiership players asked to help with the scheme, only 225 contributed. (News of the World)

Disgraceful, they should be named and shamed.

I don't agree about the naming and shaming, as it is charity and by nature voluntary, we also don't know what other charity commitments some of the players may have, plus a great many are not English.

It is however indicative of the attitude now of many Premiership players, in that all they care about is their personal wealth, probably one of the reasons the National side doesn't produce the goods.

Agree with Rolf as you can't name and shame them, but at least I can name the whole Fulham squad who ALL contributed to the nurses, not like our tight arsed neighbour's.

We may be crap at football but we are generous.
