Hello...

i have a motorized Dish...it is big about 240CM with SuperJac motor
i can get most of satllites lik Hotbirtds/Astras/Panamsat/Amos/NileSat
i use the old Analoge Penjamine reciever to move the dish while using a local made digital reciever ..

i need to know the location of the HispaSat to tune it but i tryed and could not :(
i live in Egypt is it out of my range??
i got the freq from Lyngsat website and tryed to set each freq and kept moving right and left to get any signal but failed,.

what is wrong?..do i need to go ustairs and refix the position of the dish by my hand? or is it out of my range?

Hi trouble

I looked at the footprints for the satellites at 30west, I think that you might have trouble seeing them, a larger dish might help or a more sensitive receiver perhaps. Does anyone in your locality pick up 30west do you know?
Sorry I could not help any further.

Hi Trouble, I also live in Egypt - you mentioned receiving the astras - did you manage to get any transmission from astra 2d? Please let me know as I'm not receiving it at all ... thanks in advance!

Looks like Egypt is well outside the Astra 2D footprint.

You can check it here....

I am kinda out of business for sometime..found that the net is more interesting than th pay TV.

anyway i was asking about HispaSat not Astra2B..i do not know if i get this one or no..name me a channel on it to tell you..but i have several sats around Astra .most of them are in english lang.

I can confirm that HispaSat can be received in Egypt because pirat cards are sold here.it is just that i need some dish adjustments because the way each dish slide is different.

nice to meet you Aforman..nice to see someone from Egypt on the net.

You can get the frequencies here...

h**p://www.lyngsat.com/hispa.html

Lancelot's post will show you the footprint - sorry my reply was to afrowoman - sometimes that happens when threads open up.

Try this transponder...

30.0W 12.012V 27500

Have you had any luck with HispaSat so far?

Well this is my status so far: I'm getting an 80% strength on Hispasat but no signal or quality whatsoever... I'm an absolute zero when it comes to all this - well post here if I ever get something out of Hispasat  BTW this is the frequency I'm using: 11535v SR 24500

ok...don't laugh... I used the frequency you advised Gameboy and got Nilesat.. don't ask me how... are some of the Nilesat channels on Hispasat by any chance? Crikey I really wish I knew what I was doing :-ohmy I'm so grateful for positioners, otherwise I'd be freezing up on the roof getting absolutely nowhere :)

More than likely you were on 7W and picking up 12015V. n (euronews or al jazeera would be the likely channels). If thats the case you need to move quite a bit west to 30W before you will see Hispasat if its visible. What other satellites/Chanels are you getting if you move the dish West?

I don't know how far east or west my dish goes but here are the satellites I've received so far: Nilesat, Astra 1G, Eutelsat w3 and Hotbird. Gosh I'm so clueless it's not even funny :)

I am from Alexandria by the way..Why Hispasat is so important anyway.

there are better channels on other sats and can be opend more easily than the need to update your keys every 24 hours !!

Thanks Rossy, I'll give them a try.
Trouble, I don't know, I just felt like trying to get Hispasat- I'm trying to see what I can and cannot receive, that's all. What can we get here?

PS: Trouble, you're the one who started this thread :p - got me thinking maybe we could receive Hispasat here
