Yes, that's installed

Did you install
* regex setproctitle
* mpl_scatter_density
using ""sudo pip3 install"
sudo pip3 install regex
sudo pip3 install setproctitle
sudo pip3 install mpl_scatter_density

and
sudo dnf install python3-matplotlib-wx

Just needed sudo pip3 install mpl_scatter_density.

It's built successfully deeptho :D

I misunderstood the prerequisite string wxGTK3 gtk3-devel freeglut-devel librsvg2-devel libexif-devel libexif.

Thanks for your patience, I can sleep easily tonight!

I'll leave it at that for tonight, and continue tomorrow if you don't mind

@deeptho

In the GUI I have built, there's no lists menu for me to configure my frontends. I've checked the Readme, but can't see any mention of how to access it. Or have I missed something obvious in setting the app up?

The lists are in the menus.
It seems you are using gnome as the window system. Because of some extremely poor choices, this window system makes the menus
almost black, which is why you can hardly see them, but they are there even in your screenshot (black text on dark grey background).
This can probably be configured to look better somewhere.

If you can see the menu you can try clicking it.
If you cannot see the menu because it is black on dark gray, then press the following keys
shit control s
all together.. This will bring you to the satellite screen

Hopefully that screen is readable.

I would advise to install the mate desktop, which better adheres to the good old fashioned approach
that menus should be visible, information should not be hidden, colours should have good contrast etc.
(gnome is the exact opposite)

This is how:

sudo dnf install mate-dekstop
Then log out.

On the login screen there should be an option to select mate (probably hidden in some hamburger menu
or button).

In mate itself, if you experience problems with poor colors, select in the main menu of mate:
system - preference - look and feel - appearance
select TraditionalOK as the theme or another one which has a non-dark background

OK.., thanks for the explanation.

I'm using Cinnamon simply because I was used to it with Mint. As you mention, I enabled it from a list of desktop options I acquired. They can be selected upon logging in.

I'll try Mate.

Mate's not an option: apparently it installed using that command, but I still have just Cinnamon or Gnome in my login choices.

I don't don't like Gnome, so I'll stay with Cinnamon for now - I've just seen the top bar in the GUI, and I'll try to increase its visibilty in Preferencies.

According to the web, the following may work:
sudo dnf install mate-session-manager
and or:
sudo dnf install @mate-desktop-environment

Alternatively, in cinamon try to find a theme which does not have dark backgrounds.

Unfortunately, colours come from many places in the software. some follow the theme, others do not.
I could look later into making this also usable under cinammon.

OK, I''ll have a play with the shells.

Quick question - I have a TBS6903 and TBS6903X, and can't distinguish which of the two tuners in each card are which Adaptor when I set the Frontends in the setup list. The cards both show as TBSECP3 in dmsg grep frontend, and are both shown as 6903 :confused

You could try to figure it out in multiple ways, such as
lspci -vvv|less

02:00.0 Multimedia controller: TBS Technologies DVB Tuner PCIe Card
Subsystem: Device 6909:0010
Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx+
Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- INTx-
Latency: 0
Interrupt: pin A routed to IRQ 149
IOMMU group: 13
Region 0: Memory at df400000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: TBSECP3 driver
Kernel modules: tbsecp3

02:00.0 is the PCI address which is also shown somehwere in the frontend list of neumodvb (the long number
in the "cards" column starts with it)

The adapters are numbered sequentially, so if adapter0 is for the tbs6909x then adapter9 is for
tbs6090. Using this information, you can guess a number.

Normally you should also get a working result on tbs6909, but spectrum scan will probably not work and there may
be some crashes because the code is alpha. You can always restart and try again.

One important thing:
assuming you have a normal lnb attached and not a multiswitch, it is important to
have a file
/etc/modprobe.d/stid135.conf
with content

options stid135 mode=1

THis is the same as for the regular drivers. If the file is newly created you will need to reboot

Llew,

I have found a way to make the colours appear the same irrespective of the desktop environment.
The downside is that they class somehwat with the overall desktop, but the upside is that it will work
for everyone.

OK, that should be enough to figure things out, thanks. I have used lspci to check on the cards' recognition, but haven't read all the info there.

That's good news if you can do that.
Meanwhile I'll carry on setting things up in the configuration menus.

@deeptho

I have completed the LNB section, hopefully my choices have been stored away OK.

In the DVB-S Muxes section, I can't add a satellite from the All Satellites dropdown list. 63.0W appears in the first line, and choosing New in Edit just adds the 0.0E line. Clicking on that to manually add a satellite just enters 63.0.

Any advice you can give me on this section will be welcome.

After choosing new you have to edit the mux. One of the tasks is to select the correct satlleite. This is done by clicking on 0.0
and then selecting 63W from the the popup list or typing 63W
