New Build House, 4 ariel sockets in 4 rooms. LCD tv with Sky+
My Location
Swansea
Sorry if this has been asked before but I have looked quickly.

I have recently moved into a new build and found in the lounge there are 2 ariel points and one other that screws on (I have no idea what thats for)??? I have also other ariel poins in the house, Sky Plus+ is in the lounge and all I want to know is can I send the sky signal via the ariel point in the lounge to the kitchen so I can watch it out there. Also I would love to know what that screw one is for? On the wall it is all in one bank so it is the screw socket and then the 2 ariel points....or presuming that what they are. Sorry to sound so stupid.

ANy help would be great.

Have a look at this page and see if you can see the wallplates that you have.

From your description I would think that you have this type

_http://cpc.farnell.com/AP00757/aerials-satellite/product.us0?sku=triax-304102

but for $ly+ you need this type

_http://cpc.farnell.com/AP01088/aerials-satellite/product.us0?sku=triax-304109

The threaded connections are for your satellite receiver to connect to and you need 2 for $ly+ in order to fully use its facilities.

BTW I'm not recommending this supplier, just using their pictures!

Almost but I have 2 of these and the screw one

What is the point of the connections then? Cant I use the RF2 on the back of the sky box to one of the sockets I posted above?

Sorry to be a newb but Im not sure how to use the connections.

Some builders supply a return cable back to the loft, possibly in your case. If so, you need to identify this and connect this to the Rf2 out of receiver and an IR amplifier for sky modulated signal and uhf off air distribution.

As SM says sometimes one of the TV type aerial sockets will go back to loft (a return) so that you can do exactly as you want to do - send your signal around the house.

Sometimes it isn't though! Generally the female TV socket is for your normal TV aerial connection, the male TV socket is for your FM/DAB radio connection (but could be the return as described above) and the threaded connection is for a Digibox. As I said above, for $ly+ you need two of these so how is your $ly+ box connected?
