Some new cards on the market

PIC16F877 and 24LC128 Piccard 3 (green card)
PIC16F628 and 24LC64 Emerald card

Older
AT90S8515A and 24LC128 Funcard 3
AT90S8515A and 24LC256 Funcard 4
PIC16F84 + 24LC64 Blue card
AT Mega 161 + 24C64 Mega Funcard

The interesting one is the Emerald card. It could be the replacement for the gold card. With double the firmware storage, 3 times the on-chip eprom storage and 4 times the external eprom.

Could it be that we will see new cards around as more channels change to S2,V2,I2..Interesting.

As a matter of interest Nobbly, have you seen any files around for the Atmel Mega card? I have one and have yet to find a use for it, in fact have not been able to get any software to recognise it properly.

Rolf

PS. I like the sound of the Emerald card.

Programming the Mega funcard can be done with All-CardWriter 1.82 or PonyProg2000. Check out link for soft:

http://www.angelfire.com/electronic2/gnuelpf/inf.htm

Of couse depends on which programmer you have.
As for software to make some use of your virgin card I haven't ever seen any. sorry...

I will be on the look out...

Would my programmer become obsolete, I am using Babykeymaster and the software is Gold*Card Series Version 1.40, Build 192.

Please advise.

Let’s not get too excited too soon. I’m sure, as new cards develop the programming software will develop too.

Like anything in life things evolve and it might be the case that some programmers will not be able to program the new cards but others will only need a software update.

It would be foolish to rush out and buy the new cards yet, as rolfw found with the mega funcard he has yet to find a use for it.

There is also a new Picard 2 Plus Pic16F876/877 + 24C256

The Emerald card is also known as the green card

Yes I have found a use for it Nobbly, but it was quite expensive for a bookmark :+

Hi,
I purchased a couple of the Emerald cards, on recommendation that they are going to be the 'way forward'. Unfortunately there seem to be very few sites that support these cards, as most files seem to be for the 876/877 or funcards. Do you, or anyone else, know of any where to get files for these, as I'd hate to think I'd wasted my money.
Thanks,
Bobb.
